Artist's Statement
"For me, what unifies the painting process is the mood and psychological space that the work is intended to occupy. This gives direction to my visual problem solving and allows my work to take unexpected paths. I work with great affection for the solutions that come about through judgment, as well as accepting those that arrive as gifts. It's a balance between intent and leaving space for a little magic. This way the work can exceed, and go beyond, the original intent, and the painting starts to "give back" more than I can take full credit for."
